环境保护
Environment topics reward students who can name what their family or school actually does — not what 我们应该做 (we should do). Q3 often pushes hard on whether one person can make a difference; the high-scoring answer stands firm and names a specific habit.
Why this category matters
Green topics let Q3 probe genuine open-ended opinion (一个人真的能改变环境吗? — Can one person really change the environment?), where templated answers fail. Students who defend their view politely under pressure score the highest.

Reducing Waste
减少浪费
Reducing-waste Q3 often asks 学生能为环保做什么? (What can students do for the environment?). Specifics from YOUR family — leftovers, water, paper — beat textbook answers.

Common mistakes to avoid
- Listing five environmental problems in a panic. Pick one and go deep — examiners reward depth, not coverage.
- Saying 我们应该回收 (we should recycle) without describing what your family actually does. Vague answers score low on content.
- Conceding immediately when the examiner pushes back. Defend your view politely — 我明白您的意思,可是… — instead of flipping.
For parents
On your next walk near your block, ask your child to spot three things people throw away. Then ask which one bothers them most and why. That's exactly the Q3 opinion muscle examiners test.
