What selection involves

Every school runs its own selection.

Interviews, group tasks, trials, written tests: the mix varies by school and by talent area. Our guides compile what schools publish themselves.

1
One-to-one or panel

Your child talks with one or more adults from the school about themselves and their talent.

2

Coming in early 2027

Practise the conversation at home.

A DSA-Sec interview asks a child to talk about themselves and their talent to adults they have not met. That gets easier with practice. We are building the practice on the same approach PSLEPrep uses for the PSLE oral exam, inside the same account.

  1. 1Choose a talent areaThe questions are about what your child applied with.
  2. 2Answer out loudAt home, in their own words, as often as they like.
  3. 3Take the follow-upThe next question follows from what they said.

Built for a natural speaking habit, not memorised scripts. It will not pretend to copy any school’s interview, and no practice can promise an interview or an offer.

While the practice tool is being built, our guides explain the scheme as MOE publishes it, and are honest about what nobody has published.

Practical questions

Before you join.

When will the practice tool open?

We expect early 2027, ahead of the DSA-Sec exercise, which MOE has announced in the first week of May for the last three years. Join the waiting list and we will email you when it opens.

How much will it cost?

We have not set a price. Joining the waiting list is free and commits you to nothing.

Is it a separate site or account?

No. It will sit inside PSLEPrep, in the same account you use for PSLE oral practice.

Will it use a school's real interview questions?

No. We neither publish nor ask for actual interview content. The practice questions will be ones we write ourselves, and no school's interview is copied.

Can practice get my child an offer?

No practice can promise an interview or an offer: each school decides on its own criteria. What practice can do is narrower: help a child talk clearly about their own work, in their own words.

Who signs up, me or my child?

You. Every DSA-Sec applicant is under 13, so the waiting list is for parents, and we collect nothing about your child.

About this page

PSLEPrep is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Ministry of Education or any school named on this page. Scheme details are summarised from MOE's published pages and were last checked on 8 August 2026. Always confirm dates and requirements against MOE and the school's own website before acting on them. Reported interview questions are parent- and student-submitted accounts of past experience, not predictions, and are labelled with how well each is sourced.
